Flowmeter calibration procedure is extremely important for the correct flow control performed by the GeoNave system. If the calibration is not done properly, the target rate in L/ha presented by the system will not represent the correct value recommended for the application. The consequences may include product underdose, phytotoxicity due to overdosing, as well as problems in calculations regarding the sprayer tank volume in relation to covered area.
When selecting the Flowmeter Calibration item in the sensor configuration menu and pressing the edit button , initially an Information alert screen will appear, as shown below, recommending that for the calibration to be done correctly is required to use all spraying nozzles of the same model.
Pressing the confirm button , the screen for entering the values for flowmeter constant calibration will appear, as shown in the image below.
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Average Volume Collected | Average volume collected value in mL performed with a graduated cup for 1 minute, editable by the button
|
Informed Flow | Flow in L/min informed by the GeoNave display on the Simulation spraying screen, editable by button
|
When setting Average Volume Collected, is important that samples are taken from at least 1 nozzle in each section for 1 minute. The greater the number of samples, the better the calibration procedure accuracy.
The value of Informed Flow must be observed on the Simulation of spraying screen while keeping all sections open and selecting the target rate and approximate speed at which the operation will be performed in the field. When the value presented in Flow information becomes stable, its value must be written down and entered in the Informed Flow field of the flowmeter calibration screen.
After the two values of the calibration screen have been entered, press the confirm button . The system will automatically perform the calculation of the new Flowmeter Constant, and update its value in the corresponding parameter.
