(a) The Patrol Competition is divided into four sections and the maximum points allocation is as follows:

(i) Physical Skills 20 points
(ii) Theory 20 points
(iii) Resuscitation 20 points
(iv) Scenario Task 60 points

The total of all four sections is 120 points maximum.

Note: Sections are defined as components of the event (i.e., Physical Skills, Theory, Resuscitation, Scenario Task) and not rounds of the event. A round is a heat or final etc., of the Patrol Competition.

(b) Teams shall race against each other in the components of the physical skills section. In the other sections teams will be individually judged based on their performance.

(c) Separate draws for shall be made for the starting position of teams for each of the Surf Teams and Board/Tube Rescue Relay Race (physical skills section). Separate draws will also be conducted for the team entry order for the resuscitation and scenario Task sections. These draws may be conducted beforehand as directed by SLSA or the Referee. Teams shall complete the theory section at the same time.

(d) The draw for the roles of individual members in each team shall be undertaken following marshalling.

(e) The Referee, after considering the suitability of the area and the conditions, shall determine the order in which the event sections are to be conducted. However, the conduct of the physical components shall be Surf Teams race followed by the Board/Tube Rescue Relay race.

(f) The team with the greatest number of points awarded from all sections will be declared the winner.

(g) Depending on the number of teams and the availability of times, the sections of the event may, if possible, be conducted concurrently (e.g., Resuscitation and Board/Tube Rescue Relay).

(h) The organising group shall arrange the live patients or specify if clubs are to provide patients. The organising group shall provide patrol equipment and relevant log books or specify what clubs are to provide for the event. Teams shall provide equipment and uniforms as prescribed for this event.
