Members may be eligible to contest the U15 age category individual and team events after attaining the calendar age of 14 years (as at 30 September – refer Section 2.3.2) provided they meet the membership requirements detailed in Sections 2.2.1 and 2.2.2. For participation in March Past events refer Section 10.

Note 1: For U15 age members the relevant award is the SLSA Surf Rescue Certificate.

Note 2: U13 and U14 age competitors are not permitted to compete in U15 individual events.

Note 3: U15 age competitors must remain in the U15 age category and shall not be permitted to compete in any older age division in individual events even if they turn 15 during a season and obtain or are eligible to obtain the SLSA Bronze Medallion.

Note 4: With the exception of the specific U13 – U15, 5 person R&R event, U13 competitors shall not be permitted to compete in U15 team events.

Note 5: U15 age competitors with a proficient Surf Rescue Certificate are eligible to participate in U17 to Open age March Past events refer (Section 10).

Note 6: U15 age members who turn 15 years of age during the season and obtain the SLSA Bronze Medallion are eligible to participate in U17 team events only, with the following exceptions:
(a) U15 age members who turn 15 years of age during the season and obtain the SLSA Bronze Medallion the IRB Crewperson Award and complete the relevant training and endorsements, are eligible to participate in IRB competition as a patient or handler refer Section 3.
(b) U15 age members who turn 15 years of age during the season and obtain the SLSA Bronze Medallion are eligible to participate as a handler in all surf belt race events (refer Section 4).
(c) U15 age members who turn 15 years of age during the season and obtain the SLSA Bronze Medallion are eligible to participate in U19 to Open age surf boat competition (refer Section 5).
(d) U15 age members who turn 15 years of age during the season and obtain the SLSA Bronze Medallion are not permitted to compete on a ski or double ski (refer Section 6 and Section 8).
