(a) Handlers may be of any gender and are permitted to assist individuals, teams, and crews in particular events including IRBs, surf belt, craft, multi discipline, and pool rescue events.
(b) The specific permissions, roles, qualifications, dress and responsibilities of handlers can differ in the particular events are detailed in the relevant discipline sections of the SSM.
Note: To assist with the safe conduct of competition it is permitted for any member to assist with the removal of any damaged or abandoned equipment from the competition course.
