SIVI develops and controls protocols for digital business in the financial industry. These protocols intend to make communication and data handling easier and less expensive. A protocol is a set of agreements on how to use a single standard or a combination of standards for a specific purpose. In addition to the technical specification regarding the use of the standard(s), a protocol also includes a specification on its usage (process description). Based on SIVI AFS, multiple protocols have been developed at this time.
In this chapter you can find a short overview of these protocols. SIVI AFS currently includes nine protocols, which are available on the SIVI website (in Dutch):
- ADN Protocol: Establishes agreements for creating and processing booking messages, enabling advisors to simplify their collection process and update their administration.
- Protocol Rekening-courantberichten: allows providers to electronically send changes in the current account relationship with advisors, including details on balances and transactions.
- GRS Protocol: enables providers to send digital documents such as policies, terms, and invoices to intermediaries and service providers via GRS document messages, with identifying data for integration into insurance software.
- AFD-webservice Protocol: supports the provision of services based on SOAP/XML.
- SIVI Koppelingsprotocol (SKP-transactieberichten): facilitates efficient and automated exchange of transaction data and documents between advisors and industry partners.
- Protocol AFD-definities UIV: ensures uniform structuring of authorized portfolios, where insurers provide standardized product specifications, and underwriting agents align their insurance software accordingly.
- Protocol AFD-definities Protocol Registratie Polis: ensures the delivery of accurate policy data in digital messages so that software providers can correctly process and display policy information without errors.
- NVGA Protocol: specifies which data MGAs must provide to insurers.
- VBPUO Protocol: facilitates data exchange between pension administration organizations, fiduciary managers, and investment administrators.
