Standard settings for Orders

Default values and settings for orders

If checked, this will set the precondition flag when creating new orders.
The default priority or new orders.
The default customer for new orders.
This setting controls what should happen if a new order is create with a number that is the same as an existing order. Possible settings are:
Ignore: This will allow the creation. Allow with warning: This will allow the creation but show a warning first. Do not allow: This will block the creation.
Default material time: the hour of day (00-24). E.g. if 8 is entered the default hour of day will be 08:00
Default delivery time: the hour of day (00-24). E.g. if 8 is entered the default hour of day will be 08:00

Standard settings for Operations

Default values and settings for operations

The operation “capacity” value will be shown with the specified unit of measure (routing table, edit operation window etc.). When entering or changing the capacity inside the ROB-EX client, the specified unit of measure must also be used. Note changing this value do not affect how the value is stored internally inside ROB-EX.
Enable this flag if you would like to manually adjust both operation start and end time from the detail panel (normally operation end time is recalculated automatically if the start time is changed and vice versa).
This setting decides the action taken by ROB-EX when operation start or end time is manually changed from the detail panel. If the setting is enabled changing e.g. the operation start time to a new date, will cause recalculation of either workload/capacity or operation efficiency (depends on resource setting Modification of duration) in order to keep the current operation endtime.
Decides if the resource efficiency should be applied or not for setup time.
This setting controls what should happen when changing operation status. Use this if an operation should stay with status Planned, until one or more of its predecessors have been reported complete/cancelled. Possible settings are:
Default
An operation immediately changes to status “Released/Start possible” when the order it belongs is Released.
Block until direct previous operations in route are completed
An operation remains with status “Planned” until at least one directly connected previous operation has been reported completed or cancelled.
Block until all previous operations in route are completed
An operation remains with status “Planned” until all directly connected previous operations have been reported completed or cancelled.
Block until previous operation overlap completed
An operation remains with status “Planned” until all directly connected previous operations have been reported completed, cancelled or the quantity corresponding to the overlap quantity has been reported finished.
Block until any direct previous operation is completed
An operation remains status “Planned” until any operation that directly precedes it is completed. That is any operation which references it with either a sub-order constraint, material constraint, or directly precedes it in the route.
Enabling this will automatically set the status of an operation to started if all previous operations are completed.

From 6.4.0.589 an additional setting “Check external dependencies” has been added. With this enabled, a different production order (connected via sub-order or pegging link) is also considered. I.e. a pegged order automatically becomes “Start Possible” when the source order of the pegging link, is reported “Complete”.
If overlap of e.g. 50% is calculated from setup start time or alternatively (the default) from process time start (or setup time end).
If operation A has an overlap of 50% to operation B (the “following operation”), this flag specifies if operation B is allowed to end before operation A is complete. By default this setting is “unselected”.
If the planner is allowed to manually move an operation with state “complete” with the mouse. Note that this parameter does not affect if a completed operation can be replanned.
If unselected (the default) an operation named “sawing” will after a split in two new pieces consist of operations “sawing 1” and “sawing 2”. If the setting is selected, the operations will after a split still be named “sawing”.
If selected workload can be set to same value on multiple selected operations in one step from the detail panel. Note that changing the workload will only have effect for operations using fixed workload (as opposed to calculation of workload based on quantity and operation capacity).
If selected start or end time can be set to same value on multiple selected operations in one step from the detail panel. Simply select multiple operations and change the start or end time from the detail panel.
These settings will make sure that operation start and end times does not change if we change resource calendar, change the operation workload or change the operations resource, respectively.
