Licensing of versions prior to 6.4

The following applies to ROB-EX version 6.2 and older versions. For version 6.4 and newer read instead Licensing version 6.4 and newer.

The first time you start ROB-EX Scheduler you will be asked to register. Press the register button. You are presented with a unique host id (e.g. AA0001).

Important: the host id given depends on the license type selected, so be sure to select the correct license type. To get help selecting the right license type for your installation please see the document Planning the client installation

Send this host id in and email to support@rob-ex.com.
Important: be sure to inform ROB-EX A/S about the license type selected (named or network license), as well as the full user name (named license only), the company name, and the address of the licensee.

From the host id, ROB-EX will generate a license file and return it to you via email – save this license file on your hard disk drive.

Start ROB-EX Scheduler again and complete the registration process by pressing the “Open file..” button in the register dialog and navigate to the location of your previously saved license file. Enter your name and company and press the “Register Application” button.

Once you have completed the above steps, we recommend that you follow the getting started chapter of this manual.

*Note that if you run into problems during the licensing process, it is possible to completely reset the license key registration by manually removing the license key registration files. The location of these files depends on the license type of the client. The license type can be verified in menu Help->Register:

• Named license:
  • <c:\users>\<user dir>\robex\ganttPlanner\.nlc\.nlcf
  • <c:\users>\<user dir>\robex\ganttPlanner\.nl\key.txt
• Network license (concurrent users):
  • <robex_install_dir>\config\.nlc\.nlcf
  • <robex_install_dir>\config\.nl\key.txt
