HH-001 Exhaust If No Janitor Closet

Projects that do not store any janitorial products onsite or within the project boundary are not required to provide a janitor’s closet with dedicated exhaust. Products used by a cleaning service and any products on site for incidental cleaning must carry the EPA Safer Choice label.

To demonstrate that on-site storage for janitorial products is unnecessary, project teams must provide evidence of cleaning services, such as a cleaning contract with an outside party, or campus policies for janitorial services, including any requirements for the cleaning products.
