The mission of the Institute is to lead and support the transformation toward communities that are socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative. The Institute administers the Living Building Challenge, the built environment’s most rigorous and ambitious performance standard.
TRADEMARKS
“Living Building Challenge” (the Challenge or LBC) is a trademark of the International Living Future Institute (the Institute or ILFI). The terms “Living Future” and “Living Building” are also trademarks of the Institute. Other trademarks include “International Living Future Institute,” “Declare,” “Just,” and “Reveal.” No use of these terms is allowed without written permission from the Institute, and no project may claim to reach “Living Certification,” “Petal Certification,” or “Core Green Building Certification,” status without review and approval by the Institute.
