VIEWS AND DAYLIGHT CALCULATIONS

Step 1 – Identify, via furniture or other plan, all regularly occupied spaces within the project and calculate the total area of regularly occupied spaces.

Step 2 – Identify, via floor plan or other plan, all window walls and areas qualifying as having access to views and daylight (see Figure 9-1 above for guidance) and calculate the total area having access to views and daylight.

Step 3 – Divide the total area with access to views and daylight (Step 2) by the total area of regularly occupied spaces (Step 1) to determine the percentage of occupants with access to views and daylight. If this number is 0.75 (75%) or greater and is distributed equitably among all types of occupants, the project meets the views and daylight requirement of this Imperative.
