The Etsy Headquarters, located in Brooklyn, New York, is an exceptional space with a design centered on occupant health and comfort.
Employees are encouraged to move freely throughout the space to choose from a variety of workstations, including a landscaped roof and two outdoor terraces. The open office allows ample daylighting, with manual operable windows and shades that allow occupants to reduce the glare, as needed, on sun-exposed areas. From the interior work stations, employees have views of the surrounding area, including the Hudson River and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.
An extensive indoor air quality management plan was implemented during construction, with strict measures taken to prevent dust and moisture damage. Building materials were carefully chosen to minimize VOCs and comply with CDPH requirements. After construction was complete the project team implemented green cleaning protocols certified by the EPA’s Safer Choice Program. Pre- and post-occupancy air quality tests were conducted to ensure that the space would be safe for occupants.
All exterior doors, including the sundeck and terraces, are equipped with walk-off mats to prevent particulates. Throughout the project’s renovation, occupant health and well-being were consistently prioritized, resulting in a one-of-a-kind and inspirational space.
