Blizzard
- Avoid driving and wait until the storm ends before leaving, ask your supervisor if you can fulfill practicum hours at home by working on a project.
- If you have to drive, check Alberta 511 for current road conditions.
- If you are driving let someone know where you are going and when you expect to arrive at the destination.

- Try to stay indoors
- Avoid roadway underpasses, drainage ditches, and water collection areas because they can flood.
- Stay away from power lines and electrical wires.
- If you are driving, drive with caution and reduce your speed.
Severe Lightning
- Seek shelter
- Stay away from all electrical cords, and avoid doors, windows, fireplaces, sinks, tubs, and shower.
- If you are caught outside, do not stand near tall objects or anything made of metal, and avoid open water.
- Take shelter in a low-lying area.
Hail Storm
- Take cover when hail begins to fall.
- Stay away from windows, glass doors, and skylights, which may shatter.
- If your outside when hail falls crouch down with your face away from the wind and protect your head and neck with your hands.
