Fire at Practicum

• Follow the agency’s protocols and produces in an event of a fire.
• Maintain your responsibility to the children and youth being served.
• Evacuate the building when the fire alarm goes off.
• If you encounter smoke, keep close to the floor because smoke rises.
• Do not open a door until you have felt the doorknob. If the knob is hot, keep the door closed.
• Close doors but do not lock them behind you as you leave the room this will slow the spread of fire.
• When safe to do so, call the practicum instructor to notify them about the event.
