ELCC 2285: Practicum III – Fall Semester – September to December – second year students
Total hours: Students will have three 8 hour days/week and 2 hour weekly seminars to complete their hours.

  • This course is a continuation of ELCC 2282

Practicum III builds upon the skills and knowledge that students have gained in Practicum II. Students continue their learning and exploration with meaning making and emergent curriculum while expanding their understanding of the image of the child, their role as the educator and an awareness of diverse perspectives. Reflective practice and professionalism are demonstrated in their interactions with children and adults as they learn to build authentic working relationships. Students will contact agencies from an approved list to schedule an interview for this practicum. Students will have an assigned field mentor and faculty supervisor for this practicum.

Wellness days permitted: Three (3)

Pre-requisites: ELCC 2282 – Practicum II; ELCC 2209 – Principles of Development II; and ELCC 2110- Learning Through Play II
Co-requisite: ELCC 2121 – The Educator’s Role in Facilitating Play
