ELCC 1180: PRACTICUM I

ELCC 1180: Practicum I – Fall Semester – September to December – first year students
One 8 hour day/week to complete their hours.

• 3 credits
  Practicum I is the first opportunity for students to engage with children and educators in practice. Part of this course is spent in the Child Development Lab where students are observing, documenting and interacting with small groups of children, under the guidance of an instructor. Students will also visit agencies to experience early learning practice. This course is intended to provide students with the opportunity to learn how to engage with children, and begin to understand the complexity of child care and early learning settings.

Wellness days permitted – One (1)

*Note: Students must obtain a minimum grade of “C” to proceed to ELCC 2282-Practicum II.
