The Field Director will collect feedback (verbal, survey, anecdotal) from students, the Faculty Supervisors, and Practicum Site on the implementation of practicum when deemed necessary. They will collaborate with the Practicum Coordinator, and Faculty Supervisors, to ensure course materials are current, develop and evaluate the practicum manual as well as develop and provide the Practicum Coordinator with new or updated form(s) required for the IPT site.

The FD will work with the Practicum Coordinator to develop and deliver face-to-face orientation for students each term (topics may include: planning, exploring, applying for, and securing practicum placements). They will ensure course materials are prepared and delivered to the Faculty Supervisors, for the practicum courses (examples include course outlines, manuals, and guest speakers). They will work with the Practicum Coordinator to select, support, and evaluate the suitability of current practicum placements and facilitate the selection of future placements. As needed, the FD will consult on any practicum issues with Students, Faculty Supervisor and Site Supervisor.

The FD will regularly review practicum processes and practices (e.g. placement process, site selection, alignment of practica in the BCST) anticipating future needs and making recommendations. The Field Director will provide any necessary communication to forward to students and/or practicum site.
