Confidentiality is an essential part of the work you do. While at your practicum placements you will have access to confidential information regarding your agency, its clients, students, and employees (IPT, 2021). You have an obligation to maintain confidentiality at your practicum placements.
Students are expected to abide by the agency’s policies of confidentiality. Within the practicum, it is expected that students will respect the privacy and rights of individuals and agency personnel they work with. Although practicum experiences may be discussed and documented for the purpose of linking knowledge to practice, the identities of the individuals and staff should not be disclosed.
