The Practicum Coordinator will prepare students with the process for their upcoming Practicums &/or Capstones, typically a semester in advance. This includes but not limited to:

  • liaise and collaborate with the Field Director on student placements, manuals, orientations, approval of new sites, and processes.
  • will provide students with any necessary processes such as Police Information Check (PIC) and Intervention Record Check (IRC).
  • interview related or placement information, training, consultation, and coordination.
  • email practicum request forms to agencies, follow-up, and gather positive and negative data.
  • ensure that Practicum Site database is current and Practicum Agreements (contracts) are in place prior to the start of any semester for any practicums running.
  • create, update, and maintain student learning management systems for students to enter practicums.

Update, maintain, and monitor and load appropriate people (students, Site Supervisor, Faculty Supervisor) into IPT. Upload and launch appropriate IPT forms, maintain forms and identify any IPT issues and resolve them (providing technical support or connecting them with people who can help). They will update and maintain an IPT manual, as well as IPT tutorials to be provided to all students and Site Supervisors.

The PC is responsible to archive IPT forms once students have completed their practicum requirements for that semester.
