Tire DOT # Registration

Navigation: In a Workorder, click the Yellow T that appears when you add a tire item. From this window, click the Register DOT button.

*Note You will only have access to this if you have AutoFluent’s tire module.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that tire dealers must now electronically register all tires sold, or potentially face heavy fines. See this article by the Tire Business magazine. To both protect you, and help you build confidence with your customers, AutoFluent has teamed up with TireMetrix to include their DOT registration product in our Tire Module. TireMetrix has by far the most innovative registration product on the market. Its features include:

• DOT numbers are automatically validated as you enter them
• DOT alert for expired or recalled tires
• Reporting on recalled tires sold, to facilitate follow-ups with customers

Registering DOTs

In order for the DOTs to successfully send to TireMetrix, you will need to have the customer’s Name, Address, City, State, and Zip Code on the Workorder.

• Click on the Yellow T that appears when you add a tire to a Workorder.
• Click the Register DOT button.
• Adjust the Qty if needed.
  • This is if you have multiple of the same tires, but they have different DOT numbers.
  • If they all have the same DOT number, you can leave this field as is.
• Input the DOT in the DOT/TIN field.
  • If the number is invalid, you will get an error message. Otherwise, you will get a green check mark.
  • If there is a recall on the tire, you will immediately get notified.
• Select the Manufacturer from the Brand list.
  • If you want this manufacturer to be set as the default for the Inventory item, keep the Update Inventory Item checkbox checked.
• Hit OK.

TireMetrix DOT Reporting

The TireMetrix Report allows you to view all items that have been sent to them, along with the corresponding customer information. You can also view recalled tires.

• In AutoFluent, click the Reports button.
• Under the Customer Reports, select the TireMetrix DOT Reporting option.
• This will open up a web browser with access to different items.
