AutoInspect allows Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac OS devices to complete vehicle inspections with pictures, videos, and more! The streamlined interface is built from the ground up to speed up the process of checking in customers and performing vehicle inspections.

Features like License plate image recognition (no typing!), VIN barcode scanning, and CARFAX decoding make entering vehicle information a matter of seconds instead of minutes. Customer information lookup with Whitepages® can speed intake even more by loading information from phone numbers, and even cell phones.

While in the inspection, appropriate inspection forms and categories can be enabled on the fly, or left at your preset defaults. Canned inspection notes are easily added & retrieved. Once an inspection is saved, a click is all it takes to email or text the vehicle owner a link to the inspection.

Creating a New Inspection

If you have multiple shops and need to switch locations, click the current location you are logged into at the top-right corner of the window, then click the location you want to switch to.

  • To create an Inspection for an existing Workorder, simply click on the Workorder from the list.
  • To create a new Inspection and Workorder, click the Orange Plus Button.
  • If it is a new Inspection, select a vehicle by doing one of the following:
    • Clicking the Camera Icon to take a photo of the license plate and using CarFax to decode it.
    • Clicking the Orange Plus Button, inputting the License State, License Plate, and clicking the Black C.
    • Searching the License or VIN of an existing vehicle.
  • Select the customer by in one of the following ways:
    • Simply clicking on them in the list that populates after a vehicle is selected.
    • Clicking the Orange Plus Button to create a new customer.
    • Typing in an existing customer’s name to link them to the vehicle.

Viewing Workorder Lines

You are able to see what items are on the Workorder associated with the inspection. You cannot edit parts, labor, etc., but you can edit and add comments.

  • Click the Down Arrow that is on the top-right corner of the WorkOrder Lines section.
  • Add text on any blank lines to add new comments.
  • Alternatively, add comments in the Additional Comments field.
  • Once you save the inspection, the comments will be saved and added to the Workorder.

Adding Notes, Images, and Videos to the Inspection Sheet

  • Add any pertinent information in the top fields, such as Mechanic Notes, Mileage, and Phone Number.
  • On the inspection lines, click the Question Mark button to change the status of the item.
    • Green = Good
    • Yellow = Needs service soon
    • Red = Needs service immediately
    • Question Mark = Will not print on the inspection sheet
  • Type your notes to the right of the icon.
    • Easily create a Canned Response for often used notes by clicking the + button that appears to the right of the note. You can then use this canned response in the future by clicking the Down Arrow next to the note field.
  • Add an image or video by clicking the Black Plus Button to the right of the line, then choosing either Image or Video.
    • Use the Editor to optionally edit your image, then click Save.

Saving, Texting, or Emailing the Inspection Sheet

  • To save the Inspection, click the Orange Floppy Disk in the bottom-right corner.
  • Clicking this button will also bring up a menu in which you can Print, Email, Text, or create Recommended Services from the Inspection Sheet.
