Navigation: From the Main Menu, click Daily Report, and then the Audit button.

If you have the Accounting Module, this window offers various simple but powerful ways to analyze how your transactions are posted to the General Ledger. It also provides a Transaction Journal Report. There are three modes, or ways of looking at your data. To select a mode, click one of the three circles at the top of the window.

Transactions by Journal

This is perhaps the most useful of the three modes. Simply select a Daily Report and a Journal, and all the transactions for that day in that Journal will be displayed. You can then click the various transactions to see exactly how each of them got posted to the General Ledger.

Journal Summaries

In this mode, after selecting a Daily Report and a Journal, you can see the summary totals that got posted to your accounting software. These are the same totals that print on the Pre-Posting Trial Balance report.

Note that you can also select a date in the left center list. For example, if you entered some Vendor Invoices today for several dates, each date would appear in this list, and an account summary would exist for each day. This is so that the totals get posted to the correct days in your accounting software..

For each account you select in the Journal Summaries list-box, you can see all the transactions in the Transactions list-box that affected that account. Note that the entire transaction amount will not appear in the Transaction list-box. For example, if you select the Sales Tax account in the Sales Journal, in the Transactions list-box you will see all the transactions for the day that included sales tax. The transaction Debit or Credit amount would represent the amount of sales tax on that transaction. To see the entire transaction, press the Preview Transaction button.

Account Detail

In the Account Detail mode, you view all the activity in a given account on the selected day, and you can print a Journal Transaction Report for that account.

After an account and date range are selected, the Partial Transaction list-box shows you all the transactions for that account on that day, which can then be printed with the Print button. The Debit and Credit amounts represent only the part of the transaction posted to that account. For example, if you are looking at the Sales Tax account, the amounts on the sales transactions will only reflect the sales tax of that transaction. To view the entire transaction, press the Preview Transaction button.

The Journal Entries list-box lists all the journal entries corresponding to the transaction selected in the center list-box.

Preview Transaction

Press this button to see the details of the selected transaction. With some transactions, like Invoices and Customer Adjustments, you will be given the option to print by pressing the Printer icon at the top of the screen, as well as view.

View Notes

If there are posting errors or other problems with the selected Daily Report, this button will be available. Pressing it will let you view the error log of the day.

Print Report Button

Press this button to view and/or print the Pre-Posting Trial Balance corresponding to the selected Daily Report. This report lists the summary entries that get posted to your accounting software. These summary entries can be viewed by selecting the Journal Summaries mode, and looking at the entries in the Journal Summaries list-box when selecting the various journals.
