Navigation: From the Main Menu select Setup Entry and then press the Referred By button.

In this window, you can set up your various Advertising Mediums. This can be a great resource for figuring out which advertising sources are the most beneficial for bringing in the most new customers. For completeness, these should include Drive By and Friend, as well as any phone books, mailers or magazines you advertise in. Under Customer Reports, you can print the Referral Activity Report at any time to see how well each of these advertising mediums is doing. For each advertising medium, the report shows the total sales, the average Invoice sale, and the percent of total new sales for all Customers that started doing business with you in a given time period.

  • To create a new Advertising Medium, press the New button.
  • To delete the currently selected line, press the Delete button.

To require that your sales reps select an Advertising Medium before invoicing any new Customer, in the Defaults – W/O Tab of the System Settings window, check the box under Rules for Sales Rep labeled Require “Referred by:” for new customers.
