As part of the data migration process for projects, a new staging table is created to import the data, validate the imported lines, and copy data to the target project table.

Export and import from excel buttons are available in staging form. Data could be exported from excel and imported back to the staging table to update existing or new records.
Prepare the template with new/existing data and import it to staging using import from the excel button.
Mappings are predefined for each mandatory field; the User can change the mapping based on requirements.
Once data is imported to staging form, records will be validated and copied to the target table, i.e., the project table.

| Owning Company | Define under which legal entity project should be related |
| Project manager primary email | Define the user email to update Project manager bookable resource |
| Estimated start date | Define the date for a project estimated start date |
| Is Valid | Column holds Yes/No Enums. When initial records are imported to staging form ‘‘Is valid’‘ field values should be No. |
| Validation details | If any errors exist in the record, error details will be updated in the validation details field |
| Is Processed | Is Processed column holds Yes/No Enums. When initial records are imported to staging form Is valid field values should be No. |
| Created date and time | Created date and time will be updated when record is successfully updated in project staging form |
| Validate all | When a user clicks the ‘’Validate all’’ button, all the validation will be done and field ‘Is valid’ will be updated as Yes If there are any errors in the records, Is valid will remain as No and error details will be updated in the validation details field. Validations such as Customer account, Organisation unit, currency code, etc., must be filled with valid data. |
| Copy data to target | Projects will be created while clicking on Copy data to target button where valid field values should be Yes. Once Projects are created successfully Is processed field will update as Yes |
Once the copy data to the target is completed, the data can be viewed under Projects > Projects
