Automated Project Categories Creation in FSCM

Standard MS process allows creation of Transaction categories and shared categories automatically, but the Project categories creation must be done manually. As part of this feature, the project categories creation process will be automated.

A new periodic job has been introduced to facilitate the automated creation of project categories. A new menu item ‘Generate project categories for shared categories’ has been added in PMA module in FSCM. This form serves as the interface for initiating the automated creation of project categories.

When clicked, the system creates Project categories for the open shared categories defined, for different transaction types – Hour, Fee, Expense, Item in FSCM.

Project Categories Fields

Fields Description
Hour category group Specifies the default hour category that must be used for project category creation
Fee category group Specifies the default fee category that must be used for project category creation
Item category group Specifies the default item category that must be used for project category creation
Expense category group Specifies the default expense category that must be used for project category creation
Default expense type Specifies the default expense type that must be used for project category creation for expense project category
Default expense payment method Specifies the default expense payment method that must be used for project category creation for expense project category
