Enhancements are made on creation customer. The status of the customer will be set to Open in D365 FSCM if the workflow is disabled and subsequently in Project Operations when the customer is created. If the workflow is enabled in D365 FSCM, then the status remains ‘Pending’.

Note: There is a known issue with this enhancement

The status is not updated automatically when an account is created first, and the field Relationship status is updated to Customer after the record is saved.
