Updating existing products and services

The importer can also be used to update values in existing products and services from a spreadsheet. This is useful in the following circumstances:

• Updating products
• Updating the accounting codes
• Adding to a group
• Changing the suppler
• Updating any of the fields

!There is a risk when doing this. If a mistake is made and duplicates are created and a clean up process is needed, the wrong product can get removed and line items will lose their relationship to their product ID if that ID is deleted. If this occurs you may need to work with your support expert to rectify.

Updating Product Prices with a Spreadsheet

The process is exactly the same as a fresh import. If you are unfamiliar with this process review the manual before continuing. A test import is required to confirm the success then the final import can proceed. All imports need to be conducted while offline.
