If you have reviewed how to set up a product spreadheet and ensured it complies with all of the Daylite Sales Assistant requirements its time to test your import.

The test file will need the header rows a random selection of products to import. The idea here is to test enough that you get a good and fair representation of the overall data. Do not just pick the first 10 in the sheet. Try and test the most complex ones. In numbers make a new sheet calling it test 1, and add the header row from the master sheet, then add you random well selected rows into the test sheet. Export this out as a CVS file. You are ready to test the import now.

Why go offline?

In Daylite Cloud, there is no ability to make a backup and roll back, like was possible in the Self Serve version. If still using self serve, then follow the data import for self server process. The only recovery available should it be required is to wipe the local database and reconnect to the server. By doing the import while offline the results can be reviewed and tested thoroughly prior to going back online and then syncing the new data to the server for full replication.

The following screen cast shows the import process.

If the test passes then proceed to the final import.
