A spreadsheet is often the best and quickest way to import products or services into Daylite. This process is required under the following circumstances:
- When setting up Daylite Sales Assistant
- When adding a large number of new products from a supplier
- When a price adjustment is needed
- When any data needs to be updated
If you only have a small number of products to enter, we recommend entering these manually to avoid and data corruption risks.
The process needs to adhere to the following steps:
- Setting up a good, clean spreadsheet before importing
- Testing on a small subset of the data (see what is a good test)
- Importing in a safe manner that can be recovered from if a mistake occurs
Other aspects include:
- Understanding the match feature
- Saving and working with an import map
- Using all the product fields
- Understanding the accounting fields
- Understanding how the final price is calculated
