A spreadsheet is often the best and quickest way to import products or services into Daylite. This process is required under the following circumstances:

  • When setting up Daylite Sales Assistant
  • When adding a large number of new products from a supplier
  • When a price adjustment is needed
  • When any data needs to be updated

If you only have a small number of products to enter, we recommend entering these manually to avoid and data corruption risks.

The process needs to adhere to the following steps:

  1. Setting up a good, clean spreadsheet before importing
  2. Testing on a small subset of the data (see what is a good test)
  3. Importing in a safe manner that can be recovered from if a mistake occurs

Other aspects include:

  • Understanding the match feature
  • Saving and working with an import map
  • Using all the product fields
  • Understanding the accounting fields
  • Understanding how the final price is calculated
