Users may use Review Codes to build GIS map layers. Review Codes are county specified and can be used to group certain accounts together.
Map Layer Using Review Code for Marijuana Example
1. CREATE Review Code
Main Menu — Assessment — Assessment Tables — Assessment Support — Review Code
CLICK Create
ADD Review Code and Description
SAVE
2. ASSIGN CODE to Selected Properties
(Review Codes appear in the Assessment Record, Appraisal Summary tab and Appraisal Record, Base Values tab.)
3. BUILD Index for the Review Code
Assessment File or Appraisal File — Order — Index — Temporary
ENTER Index Criteria
Parcel Status: > 0
Review Code: =MJ
RUN Index
4. Create Layer from Index (Once in Index)
Assessment File or Appraisal File — Tools — GIS Tools — Create Layer from Index
ADD Layer Name
SELECT fields to be included in attributes (you will also be able to categorize the selected fields)
SAVE Template IF you want to be able to recreate without reselecting all fields.
CREATE Layer
5. Name Layer in Map
RIGHT CLICK on the new layer — SAVE AS
NAME it
SAVE
6. SAVE MAP STATE to keep the layer on the map when reopening
7. Edit Attributes for new layer
SELECT new layer in legend
GO to attribute table
RIGHT-CLICK and go to edit attributes
OR
SELECT attribute table icon
In the Attribute Table you can create a new label field.
Save and Close Attribute Table
8. Assign Label
Go to label tag for the chosen layer and assign label
You can also click on the box below the layer to change appearance and size
