Offset by a point
The ‘Offset by a point’ function operates similarly to the ‘Offset’ function, except the offset distance is defined by clicking (or measuring) a specified point instead of inputting a numerical value.
To use this function:
- Click, tap, or measure the point through which the offset element should pass through.
Offset and Delete
The ‘Offset and Delete’ function operates similarly to the ‘Offset’ function, except the original element gets deleted.
To use this function:
- Select the ‘Offset and Delete’ button from the drop-down menu of offset in the change ribbon.
- Enter the distance to be offset. Simply type the value into the line below the command window, then press ‘Confirm’ or the ‘Enter’ key to accept the value.
- Select the object to be offset.
- Then click/tap in the direction you wish to offset.
- The original object gets deleted, and the new one will change its color to let you know that it was offset.
- Press the confirm button to end the command.
