Wheelchair Access Guideline

With almost 1 in 5 Australians living with disability, our goal is to work with Clubs and volunteers to enhance access and inclusion. Findings from SLSQ’s Accessible Organisation Survey 2024, (responses from 54 clubs), highlight opportunities for growth:
• 41% of Clubs have beach wheelchairs, and 26% have beach matting, providing evidence of an opportunity to improve accessibility further.
• A strong majority of Clubs expressed a need for more resources and awareness-building when engaging with people with disability.

To support Clubs, we’ve developed the following resources as a guide and recommendations for Clubs when handling accessibility equipment:

Beach Wheelchair Guidelines for Handling Accessibility Equipment
Beach Wheelchair Booking Form Template
Beach Wheelchair Waiver Form Template
Beach Wheelchair General Inspection & Maintenance Checklist Template
Beach Wheelchair Risk Register Template
Beach Wheelchairs Guideline Information for Clubs
