*PROFICIENT AWARD MEMBERS AND OBSERVERS QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient award members may be utilised on beach patrols, however shall not be permitted to wear the red and yellow quartered patrol cap. As a substitute to the red and yellow quartered cap, award members may wear a red peak cap or a wide brimmed hat, and have the award they hold clearly marked on the patrol shirt or hat i.e. ART Operator, First Aid Holder and Radio Operator etc. All award members must hold the QLD Observers Award.

NOTE: SLSQ recommends that patrol members should not exceed five (5) hours patrol without a break (food and drink intake, and rest).
