SLSQ would love to recognise the outstanding work lifesavers and lifeguards do, not just on the beach but away from it. So, if an SLSQ member has performed or demonstrated one or more of the following below, they can be nominated for a Lifesaving Excellence Award:

  • Outstanding Rescue: The Jack Dearlove MBE Medal.
  • Outstanding Resuscitation: The Professor Tess Cramond AO, OBE Medal.
  • Leadership: Jack McMasters Medal

A few reminders about the Lifesaving Excellence Award are:

  • Nominees do not have to be members of a Surf Life Saving Queensland Club.
  • The event does not have to be at the beach or water related. For example, it can be for an outstanding resuscitation performed in a shopping centre etc.
  • You can select if you would like to put the same incident forward for an SLSA Meritorious Award or SLSQ Bravery Award.
  • Prior to commencing the online nomination, the nominator should have the following information available:
    1. Name of the Person(s) being nominated,
    2. Club (if applicable)
    3. Branch
    4. Date & location of incident
    5. LIMSOC Incident Number
    6. Description of the incident
    7. Any supporting documents
