System Administrators can enhance item classification by creating Object Subtypes. This feature allows for more detailed categorization across different objects within EPC.
Administrators can customize the names of subtypes and specify which subtypes are applicable to each object type. EPC comes with a default list of object subtypes, which administrators can easily modify—adding new subtypes, editing existing ones, or removing unnecessary entries.
Additionally, administrators can select the preferred language for viewing these subtypes, ensuring accessibility for multilingual users.
The following list outlines all the object types that can be associated with Object Subtypes:
- Asset
- Attribute
- Capability
- Control
- Document
- Entity
- KCI (Key Control Indicator)
- KPI (Key Performance Indicator)
- KRI (Key Risk Indicator)
- Input/Output
- Objective
- Organizational Unit
- Process
- Resource
- Risk
- Role
- Rule
- Service
- Term
Adding New Subtype
- Click on the +Add New Type button.
- In the form, type the subtype’s name, description (optional), Prefix SSN (more on this below), and specify which object type it applies to.
- The Prefix SSN field lets organizations customize SSN prefixes for new objects based on their subtypes. System Admins can set custom prefixes for both default and user-defined subtypes.
- For example, a document with the ‘Record’ subtype and prefix ‘REC’ would be numbered REC-309287. If no subtype or custom prefix is assigned, the default prefix (e.g., DOC-309287) is used.
- Click on Add to create the subtype.
Search & Sorting
Admins can sort the table in ascending or descending order by clicking the Name or Object Type column headers. Additionally, they can filter the list by entering an object type name in the search box.
