Study-travel course instructors must submit an Initial Proposal and a Final Proposal containing a budget worksheet and other required information on their travel arrangements to the Study Travel Course Committee (STCC). No course may travel without being designated a travel course by the College. In order to receive approval, all instructors must propose and receive approval in accordance with this handbook and conform to all deadlines and required document submission as required by the OIE and the STCC. Only courses that have been approved to travel by the STCC will be added to the course schedule. Once a study-travel course is approved, the instructor must communicate all information requested by OIE in a timely manner and attend OIE’s mandatory meetings.

The STCC emails a link to this study-travel Instructor Handbook as well as the proposal criteria and guidelines to all faculty prior to the start of every proposal period. Please read these documents carefully before you begin the Initial and Final Proposal via the College’s Digital Measures—Workflow platform. By proceeding, you confirm that you have read it and will follow the processes and procedures it outlines. Failure to follow the procedures outlined in these documents, many of which reflect College policy, may result in problems administering your travel course, the inability to access funds, out-of-pocket expenses, or even the loss of the ability to lead future travel courses.

Please also refer to Timeline and Deadlines in this handbook for the study-travel program timeline.
