To ensure that your call will be answered please call RMC Campus Safety at (804) 752-4710 first, which is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. When calling Randolph-Macon, be prepared to describe the emergency briefly, provide callback information and arrange for future communication with the OIE. Be sure to document everything in writing. Please use the online Incident Report form on Pharos360/The Hive or paper form (refer to Incident Report).
When receiving a phone call from the instructor in the event of an emergency abroad, RMC’s Campus Safety is instructed to call the on-call International Education Staff immediately. The Campus Safety Communication Officer follows up each call with an email describing the phone call to the on-call staff.
For non-emergency calls, the Communication Officer informs the caller that an email or phone message will be sent to the on-call staff’s office and OIE staff will contact the caller promptly when they return to the office.
- As soon as you have arrived at the location where you will be staying please call or email the Office of International Education (via Campus Safety) and have students communicate with their families that they have arrived safely. Parents want to hear from their children. (We cannot emphasize this enough!)
- In the event of a medical emergency abroad, please contact RMC’s Campus Safety at (804) 752-4710 and follow iNext’s protocols on the OIE website.
