During the Initial Proposal Phase:
- Department chairs are to inform the STCC of their rotation, if they have established one, of all study-travel courses their department intends to offer.
- At least one RMC faculty and another faculty or staff member must accompany every study-travel group. Contact OIE or the Provost’s Office for support to identify additional faculty or chaperones, if necessary (refer to “Faculty Instructors & Chaperones” for more details).
- The instructor and/or chaperone(s) must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, the country, as well as be able to identify on-site contacts. At least one instructor or chaperone must have the ability to communicate effectively in the language spoken in the destination country(ies) where English is not in common usage.
