Participation in R-MC’s study/travel courses is restricted to R-MC students (degree-seeking students and full-year exchange students only), faculty, and staff and those chaperones who have been approved by the STCC and the Provost of the College. No one else is permitted to travel with a J-term or Summer Term study-travel course. Should any participant in a study-travel course be related in any way to the instructor or chaperone, or should the R-MC instructors/chaperones be related to each other, it is expected that the distinction between personal and professional responsibilities will be maintained.
Family members, colleagues, alumni, friends, and others are not permitted to travel with any R-MC group, including sharing lodging, nor may such individuals participate in any aspect of a Randolph-Macon College study-travel course, with the exception that in-country colleagues and friends who are supporting the academic objectives and/or cultural components of a study-travel course may participate as appropriate in daily activities or planned events.
Per policy in RMC’s Academic Catalog, only degree seeking students and international exchange students are eligible to participate in study-travel. Non-degree seeking students may not enroll.
All enrolled participants must complete all the required forms, agreements and waivers applicable to the Study-Travel Course and are responsible for paying the full cost of the Study-Travel Course, including the costs of enrolling in the mandatory medical and travel insurance programs as well as the $30 contingency fee.
