The following Properties can be configured for Users under the General tab:

Ensure the user is Enabled by checking the Enabled checkbox.

  • Username – this field is used for the name of the user, which is displayed in reports and other administrative functions.
  • First Name – this field is used for the first name of the user
  • Last Name – this field is used for the last name of the user
  • Middle Name(s) or initials – this field is used for the middle name or initials of the user
  • Login ID – this field is the Login ID used to authenticate the user within PriApps
  • Password – this field is the password of the user
  • User Type – this field defines the user type within PriApps. Most users created manually by default are Local Users meaning they are local to the PriApps Database and not LDAP. Different options can be selected by clicking on the drop-down box.
  • Location – this is a location where the user is normally situated (i.e. department).
  • Role – All users by default are marked as Standard Users but in some cases a few users can be marked as Device Administrators, which means those users can log into any device as an admin to access the devices admin functions. Here you can also limit the particular user with device permissions such as No Color, No Fax, Copy print etc or Scan only to restrict them to use only certain functions of the printer. Administrators can define new roles by selecting Users & Security from the main PriApps main menu, then selecting Roles and following the instructions in the following section
  • Shortcode – A shortcode can be assigned to a user manually. A short code is an easy to remember 4 or 5 digit (depending in the number of users are in the organization) that the user can use to authenticate at the PriApps managed device instead of using another type of authentication.
  • Email Address – The user’s primary email address if applicable.
