To create user groups, select Users & Security from the main PriApps menu, and then select Groups. Select the type of Group and click on the Add ( ) button on the right hand side of the screen and complete the details as appropriate.

There are a number of Group sub-types to choose from:

  • Reporting – Reporting Groups can be set up so that the members can receive alerts from the PriApps system to alert them of any possible issues.
  • Distribution – Distribution Groups can be set up so that members belonging to this group can receive ad hoc or scheduled reports by email.
  • Delegate – Delegate Groups can be set up so that a user can release jobs on behalf of the members of a delegator group.
  • Security – There are 2 types of Security Groups:
    • UserSecurity – defines Groups of users that are either allowed or not allowed access to specific Managed Printers
    • PrinterSecurity – defines Groups of users who are given access to, or allowed to download, print queues and print drivers for specific printers.
  • Google Share – Members of a Google Share will have specified printers shared with them automatically. This means the printer will immediately become available to them on publication.

Provide a friendly name and description of the group and then select the sub type of the group.

Once complete, click on the Save / Confirm button ( ) on the right hand side of the screen to save the all details.

Next select the Members tab

Here you can Search for a user by last name and once you have found the desired user click on the Add User button. Repeat the process until you have all the users in the Members section and click on the Save button. You can also add other groups that you may have created previously, as this will prevent having to add the same users individually. Once you have created the group it will automatically be available for all group related features in the PriApps software.
