PriApps can be deployed as a centralized or distributed on-premise server based solution, or as a Private Cloud-based service. It does not rely on existing print servers as it has an enterprise scalable output management engine at its core.
Supported Operating Systems
PriApps runs on all Windows operating systems currently supported by Microsoft:
- Windows Server 2012 all editions (64 bit)
- Windows Server 2016 all editions (64 bit)
- Windows Server 2019 all editions (64 bit)
- Windows Server 2022 all editions supported by Microsoft (64 bit)
- Windows 8.1 all editions except Home edition (64 bit) *
- Windows 10 all editions except Home edition (64 bit) *
- Windows 11 all editions except Home edition (64 bit) *
Hardware Requirements (minimum)
- Intel® Xeon® server processor or equivalent
- 8GB RAM
- 100GB HDD space (minimum)
HDD Space Sizing
The following calculation provides an overview of how to calculate the amount of disk space required on the PriApps Application server for Secure Print Release / Pull Print jobs:
- Connected printers/MFP’s = Printers
- Average number of print jobs per hour per printer/MFP = Jobs
- Largest print job size (MB) = MB
- Average storage period of the print jobs before release (Min. = 1) = Hour
- Contingency expressed as a decimal (Min. = 1) = Contingency
Minimum disk space = [Printers] x [Jobs] x [MB] x [Hour] x [1 + Contingency]
For example, a Customer with 10 MFPs using PriApps for Secure Print Release, where the average number of print jobs per Hour is 60, with the largest print job size being 10 MB and jobs are released after 3 hours, with a 20% contingency, would require:
Minimum HDD space required = (10 × 60 × 10 × 3 × 1.2) 23,400 MB or 23 GB
Calculating Database Size
Each server transaction, such as a print job or copy session, logs to the database and requires approx. 1.25 KB of database space.
For example, a location with 500 users the following calculation can be applied. Assuming 10 transactions per day and all users printing:
500 × 10 × 1.25 = 6,250 KB per day
Which would require 6.1MB per day / 134.2 MB per month / 34.6 GB per year of database disk space

- Internet connection for online licensing
- TCP/IP network for server and printers
- Wireless network for Smartphone apps.
- Supported Browsers: Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Edge Internet Explorer 8 and above
- Anti-virus programs should be disabled from monitoring the PriApps Application server
Bundled Software
The following 3rd party software will be installed by PriApps Print:
- MySQL
- OpenOffice
- Apache web server
Printer Drivers
When PriApps is being used to process print jobs, in the case of Secure Print Release and Mobile Printing, or it is being used for the centralized management and deployment of printers and drivers, the most current and correct Manufacturer’s printer drivers are required. It is recommended that the necessary drivers are pre-installed. Printer drivers should have SNMP disabled when using PriApps for Secure Print Release, as bi-directional communication between printer drivers and print devices is not possible.
