Disaster Recovery (DR) describes an organization’s ability to respond to and recover from an event that negatively affects business operations. The goal of DR methods is to enable the organization to regain use of critical systems and IT infrastructure as soon as possible after a disaster occurs.
Selecting the Disaster Recovery section of the BCM application directs users to the following subcategories:
- Simulate Disaster Recovery Plan
- List of Simulated Disaster Recovery Plans
- Execute Disaster Recovery Plan
- List of Executed Disaster Recovery Plans
*Note: In order to execute or simulate a disaster recovery plan (DRP), a business continuity plan (BCP) must first be defined. Although users can define multiple BCPs, only 1 BCP can be active at a time. A BCP is considered active if it fulfils 2 criterias: (1) It has been approved and (2) It has an effective date.
