Once the action items have all been executed and closed, the assigned user will receive a notification in their Pending Tasks informing them that they need to sign off.

They will also receive two emails. The first email will inform them that the simulated action items have been completed and that the BCP is now ready for review and closure.

The second email will inform them that they need to sign off on the BCP.

Clicking either on the subject in Pending Tasks or the link in the second email should direct the user to the Sign-Off form. This form is largely a duplicate of the Execute Disaster Recovery Plan form, with the exception being that almost all of the fields are disabled. Users can, however, access the EPC process linked in the Incident/Crisis Response Process tab, view action items in the BC & DR Action Items tab, and access any documents linked in the Documents tab. Listed below are the two other primary differences between the forms:

  1. Lessons Learned Tab

Although the final tab in the Execute Disaster Recovery Plan form is the External Emergency Contacts tab, in the Sign-Off form, the final tab is the Lessons Learned tab.

  • Total Time to Recover (Hours): This is a numeric field that allows users to input the number of hours it took to recover after the disaster. It is a mandatory field.
  • Lessons Learned: This is a description box that allows users to input the lessons learned following the execution process. In this field users can insert headings, bullets, images, tables, links, and media files (as well as change font colors, font sizes, background colors and more). It is a mandatory field.
  • Improvements: This is a description box that allows users to input the improvements that could be implemented in the future. In this field users can insert headings, bullets, images, tables, links, and media files (as well as change font colors, font sizes, background colors and more). It is a mandatory field.
  • Issues Experienced (Fail Points): This is a description box that allows users to input any issues experienced/fail points detected during the execution process. In this field users can insert headings, bullets, images, tables, links, and media files (as well as change font colors, font sizes, background colors and more). It is a mandatory field.
  • Remediation Plan: This is a description box that allows users to input remediation plan. In this field users can insert headings, bullets, images, tables, links, and media files (as well as change font colors, font sizes, background colors and more). It is a mandatory field.
  • Execute Plan is Completed: This button will be explained below.
  1. Execute Plan is Completed

At the bottom of the Sign-Off form, there is the following button:

  • Execute Plan is Completed: This button allows users to complete the BCP, bringing the workflow to an end.
