The Switch Milestone/Task option provides the functionality to switch between Tasks and Milestones in the Gantt chart interface. By default, all activities are initially designated as tasks.
To convert a task to a milestone, first select the task and then click the Switch Milestone/Task button. Subsequently, the horizontal rectangular bar that represents the task is replaced by a diamond shape, visually distinguishing it as a Milestone.
On the other hand, to turn a milestone back into a task, first select the milestone row and then click the Switch Milestone/Task button once again. This action restores the activity’s representation to a horizontal rectangular bar, indicating its status as a task.
This feature allows users to dynamically adjust the nature of activities within project timelines, accommodating changes in the project structure and highlighting important milestones for effective project monitoring and management directly in the Excel environment.
