The Select predecessors option facilitates the construction of project schedules by allowing the sequence of activities to be established.
To designate a predecessor for a specific activity, select the activity of interest in the Gantt chart and then click the Select predecessors button.
A new window opens displaying all project activities, allowing users to choose one or more predecessor tasks from the list. This selection process defines the chronological relationship between tasks, indicating which activities must be completed before others can be started.
After selecting the desired predecessor task(s), confirm by clicking the Apply and Close button. Subsequently, directional arrows are automatically generated within the Gantt chart, illustrating the flow of tasks from predecessor activities to the final activity. These arrows visually represent task dependencies and sequence, increasing clarity and understanding of project timelines and interdependencies.
This feature streamlines the scheduling process by providing a structured method for establishing task sequences ensuring clear and organized sequencing within the project timeline.
