There are a number of Web Part Properties that can be used to configure the behaviour of Social Squared. To access the Web Part Properties, Click Edit to put your site into Edit mode if it is not already. Click on to the Pencil icon in the top left hand corner of the Social Squared Client Side Web Part. The Social Squared Web Part Configuration tool part will display.

Click Pencil Icon for Web Part Properties

The following properties will display:

  • Title – Set the title of the web part. You can change it from Social Squared to something relevant to your organization, such as “Marketing Forums”.

  • Forum Groups – You can configure which Forum Groups you would like to display on this particular instance of the web part. Leaving this property blank will result in the Social Squared Client Side Web Part showing all forum groups. Setting a value will display the Forum Group that you specify. (e.g. You may have configured 2 forum groups, but only want to display one of them on this particular page.)

  • Rich Text Editor (RTE) Options – There are 3 styles of Rich Text Editor to choose from that are used to apply style to your posts.

    • Classic

      Inline Rich Text Editor

    • Inline (default)

      Classic Rich Text Editor

    • Balloon

      Balloon Rich Text Editor

  • Posts per page – Allows you to control how many posts per page are displayed.

  • Popular Topics Count – The number of posts to show as popular topics

  • Recent Activities – The number of days to show as recent activities

  • Active Users (Days) – The number of days to look at the active users.

  • Enable Attachments – Users can make attachments to posts, unless this option is turned off.

    Web Part Properties

  • File Types (use , as separator) – The file types that are allowed as attachments.

  • Max Upload File Size in MB – The maximum file size allowed as attachments.

  • Enable Tags – Allow posts to be tagged.

  • Enable Badges – Allow users to be awarded badges for the number of posts, replies, and marking as answered.

  • Badges – The number of badges in each category that will be displayed based on a points category. For example, between 1 and 5 points will give you 1 badge. Two badges are awarded for 10-50 posts.

  • Web Part Height – the web part height will be dynamic, unless you enter a value in the Web Part Height property.
