If you use My Sites in your Microsoft® SharePoint® Server on-premises installation, it is possible for your Social Squared posts to appear on the My Site Newsfeed. This is set at Social Squared database level, that is, when the Social Features is set to True, then a link, Post on my Newsfeed, is added to a post for all forums in forum groups that are saved in one Social Squared database. Therefore, any posts you create in any forum in any forum group in the associated Social Squared database, you can choose to post to the My Site Newsfeed.
Any other SharePoint® user that follows you, will see that you have shared the post, when they navigate to their newsfeed.
To activate the newsfeed functionality, complete the following steps:
- From the Site Settings page, under Social Squared Forum, click Forum Settings.
The Forum Settings page is displayed.
- Scroll down the page, and select True from the Social Features drop down list.
- At the bottom of the page, click Update.
The newsfeed posting functionality is now available.
