Navigating Social Squared

The navigation of Social Squared is self explanatory when navigating from the Social Squared main page, through to a Forum, and then a Topic.

Within a Topic, there are many different links for navigation.

Navigation

The topic left of the page shows a breadcrumb trail allowing you to navigate back to the forums view, or to the SharePoint team site.

BreadcrumbBreadcrumb

Delete Topic, Lock, Make Sticky

The Delete Topic, Lock and Make Sticky options appear beneath the breadcrumb trail.

Delete Topic

If you are the creator of the Topic, you will see the option to delete the topic. If this option is not displaying, it is due to there being replies to your topic. In which case, you should ask the Administrator to remove the Topic and it’s replies.

Lock

The Lock option allows the Administrator of Social Squared to stop any more replies to a topic.

Make Sticky

The Make Sticky option allows the Administrator to keep the Topic at the top of the forum since it may be the most relevant to the forum or attract users to the forum.

Rate this Topic

Every user will be able to rate a topic.

Rate TopicRate Topic

Towards the bottom right of the description field, you will notice the options to:

Delete

Use the delete command to delete the current post if you were the author of it.

Mark as Featured

If a reply is a good post, and you would like it to stand out, you can mark it as a featured post.

Mark as Answer

If a Topic is being posted as a question such as a technical question, and there are several replies. A reply can be marked as “The Answer”. This notified users who may be reading the post as they had a similar question to know what the correct answer is.
