Section 9 – Administration and Centre Management

Reporting: This section outlines the standardised procedures for comprehensive reporting within the Operations Manual. It provides guidelines on the types of reports, their frequency, and the channels through which they should be submitted.

Email Usage: Explore the best practices for effective email communication, emphasising clarity, professionalism, and adherence to organisational policies. This section aims to streamline communication channels and ensure efficient use of email for official correspondence and managing the shared SurfCom inbox.

Rostering: Utilising the Deputy Platform, the rostering process is conducted, aiming to be finalised one month in advance whenever feasible. Flexibility is inherent in both the centre’s rostering system and shifts, with the Operations Centre Supervisor (OCS) striving to accommodate the diverse needs and limitations of all operators to the best of their ability. The OCS and SCA will work in conjunction to roster for both paid operators and volunteer operators.

Team Meetings: Team meetings will be scheduled at important times throughout the year. It’s encouraged to raise any concerns, issues or suggestions during these meetings, this allows the OCS and OSS to address and rectify these promptly. The importance of effective communication and collaboration during team meetings is paramount.

SLSQ Issued Equipment: Understand the protocols for managing and maintaining equipment issued by Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ). This includes guidelines for equipment distribution, regular checks, and reporting any issues or discrepancies.

Operational Risk: Delve into the strategies and protocols for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks. This section emphasises a proactive approach to risk management to ensure the safety and effectiveness of all operations.
