Information Assessment
Assessing information is an important part of emergency response management. When information is received, it needs to be evaluated to determine if it is relevant, reliable, urgent, and significant.
Relevant information is important, while unreliable information must be double-checked. Urgent information requires immediate attention, while significant information requires appropriate responses to be planned.
Assessing information ensures that the most accurate and reliable information is used to make decisions and allocate resources during emergency situations.
Tasking SLSQ Resources
Providing clear principles and procedures for SurfCom Operators in coordinating and deploying SLSQ resources. The aim is to efficiently dispatch the most suitable resources to individual service requests within agreed timeframes. Operators are responsible for managing responses consistently and safely, ensuring timely and effective care.
Dispatch principles involve triaging high-priority incidents, utilising LIMSOC for resource identification, dispatching the closest most appropriate resource, and assigning the appropriate skill level. Response priority is given to incidents with potential life-threatening conditions, requiring immediate dispatch to the closest suitable resource, and high-priority incidents necessitate secondary responses and backup resources.
LIMSOC (Lifesaving Incident Management System Operation Console)
LIMSOC (Lifesaving Incident Management System Operation Console), is a web-based system designed to enable multiple functions within the organisation. It serves as a centralised platform for coordinating incidents, rescues, tracking assets and other critical information from beaches across SLSQ’s operational areas. LIMSOC enables seamless integration between lifesavers stationed on the beach and SurfCom enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the services and support delivered.
